Behaviour

The Enemy Elephant Miocene Elephant is found only in the savanna region, near the Baobabs Oasis.

Combat

The Miocene Elephant is perhaps the most difficult animal to interact with in the game. They do not give much warning before attacking, unlike the other Irascible Threats who warn a Hominid thoroughly before charging. The only weapons that can counterattack an elephant successfully are MindIcon DeadBranchDead Branches, MindIcon StickSticks, and SenseIcon SharpStickSharpened Sticks. This adds to the difficulty of hunting them because the area they are found in is not rich with Dead Branches. They have a very large amount of health, taking anywhere from 4 to 7 Sharpened Sticks to kill (in my experience -Isheiono.) The elephant is the most confident animal in the game, so a Hominid needs an extremely highFile:Intimidate ico 84.pngintimidation score to scare it away. In my experience (Isheiono,) it took an entire clan of 6 adults and 6 elders all carrying Dead Branches to successfully intimidate an elephant, but an entire clan without weapons is not successful.

Carcass

The carcass of the Miocene Elephant provides Enemy Elephant carcass Mammal Meat and SenseIcon HardBoneHard Bone when it is File:Butcher ico 84.pngbutchered. The carcass can be butchered 3 times. To butcher a carcass more than once, all the items dropped from the previous butchering must be picked up.

Interactions With Other Animals

The Miocene Elephant completely dominates every other animal it interacts with. Strangely enough, it is the only Irascible Threat to have interactions with other irascible animals such as the Miocene White Rhinoceros.
