Description
Hard Bone is a tool item and a weapon.
How to create
Hard Bone is produced by butchering certain carcasses. Any rock or blunt object can be used for butchering but there are two tools that excel at butchering: aBasalt Chopper or anObsidian Scraper.
How to obtain
The Hard Bone can be grabbed from a carcass.
Where to obtain
The following carcasses will supply hard bone:
- African Buffalo Carcass
- Bateleur Eagle Carcass
- Black Machairodus Carcass
- Crocodile Carcass
- Dorcas Gazelle Carcass
- Giant Warthog Carcass
- Golden Machairodus Carcass
- Hippopotamus Carcass
- Hyena Carcass
- Megarian Banded Centipede Carcass
- Miocene African Horse Carcass
- Miocene African Otter Carcass
- Miocene Elephant Carcass
- Miocene Pelican Carcass
- White Machairodus Carcass
- White Rhinoceros Carcass
Uses
The Hard Bone can damage animals, kill them if already badly hurt, and is intimidating to predators.
After unlocking several damage and combat related neurons it is actually possible to kill predators and other wildlife with a Hard Bone, even though it is not very probable due to the low damage it inflicts. If a predator or animal is limping, the Hard Bone will be far more likely to kill.
Main advantage: Will not break if used and can be used multiple times in combat. Which means you won't need to constantly give weapons to clan members as they defend themselves.
Disadvantage: Will help intimidate an animal however, will not likely kill your foe in a single strike.
Attacking certain big animals with a bone will lead to taking damage and a debuff (unless protected) even when attack was successful:
