I think we should start a page dedicated to crafting, with visually appealing presentation with tiles and arrows and such. The Items page is OK, but it doesn't give quick answers. I'll personally read about CSS and layout to learn how I could do this, but anyone is free to start. --BowiQC (talk) 14:48, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

: I'll definitely help with information filling, though I too know little about layout and such. If there would be a template for this I'd use that. Should we maybe have the end product and show all the tools that can craft that item or should we list an item and show what it could craft, or, maybe some completely different setup? Maybe just add crafting information to each craft-able resources own page and have a type of wiki-category for the craft-able items? --Fynxer (talk) 14:13, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

::I stopped thinking about a "crafting page", but I started using images like on Granite Grinder (Granite lapis ad Molendum). Images are here: :Category:Images. I'll focus on playing the game and recording my playthroughs, in prevision of wiki editings. 😅 If you want to continue what I started, you can probably learn with my "code". Also, I invite you to read gphelp:Main Page to learn about Links and Images. --BowiQC (talk) 18:28, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

Major Upload

I just uploaded 109 32 pixels X 32 pixels icons. Click here to see them. I have the same images at 128x128, but I won't upload them as I'm not sure it would qualify as Fair Use. I might upload more images tonight, but I mostly cared about these. --BowiQC (talk) 21:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Crafting section

I think we should start a page dedicated to crafting, with visually appealing presentation with tiles and arrows and such. The Items page is OK, but it doesn't give quick answers. I'll personally read about CSS and layout to learn how I could do this, but anyone is free to start. --BowiQC (talk) 14:48, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

Poll

Hello everyone!

As some of you might have noticed, there are currently six wikis about “Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.” Three of them either agreed to merge and/or are inactive since 48–100+ hours. This means we currently have three relatively healthy and active wikis about “Ancestors”.

Two wikis are on Fandom and each have been founded by a volunteer who is still maintaining their creation, and they also have at least one relatively active and loyal additional editor.

The third wiki is on Gamepedia (property of Fandom since December) and has been created in 2017 by a Staff Member, and had the same kind of activity burst that Fandom’s wikis got. Active members count is similar too.

Now… If we want to share a “one-stop shop” for knowledge and sharing about “Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey,” we might have to decide which wiki will receive the most attention. Some people think wiki should be left to a peaceful death as editors and readers organically and slowly migrate toward one or two wikis, but I personally prefer to organize the organic so things evolve a little bit faster. 😋 (Oh… That makes me think of a game…)

Before the decision-making, I want to share some info:

 • Staff Members can help us to migrate data from one wiki to another while retaining history and user contributions
 • Data show that both Fandom’s wikis share a similar level of popularity and activity. I think the least popular one suffers from its high count of “orphaned pages” (pages that are not linked anywhere on the wiki), so I would personally call it a tie. Gamepedia’s wiki received a lot more visits, but being curated by paid Staff Members since 2017 definitely explains a lot about that.
 • Full Disclaimer: I come from the Gamepedia’s wiki. 😑
 • Finally: Editors said to me that Gamepedia is blocked by some school-issued laptops and tablets because it has the word “game” in its URL or something. Fandom isn’t blocked.
 • If you have 15 minutes to lose, look at that video of me browsing through the three wikis 🤦‍♀️: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP4APaFgddc

Without further ado, let me share with you this *tool* that might help us to make a decision (and legitimate the whole process) AND URL to see the two other wikis with your own eyes:
