Ancestors The Humankind Odyssey Wiki:Admin noticeboard

The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify Administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

This page is for reporting wiki issues.
Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding {{delete|reason for deletion request}} to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use {{user}}, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Current Issues

Numerous duplicates on Fandom/Wikia and Gamepedia

Hello to you, reader.

Considering there are five Fandom/Wikia about “Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey” and one wiki on Gamepedia, which is itself part of the “Fandom/Wikia family” since December 2018, I really think we need to think about merging all the wikis into a single one and work together.

Even though English isn't my first language, I'll do everything I can to bring together all the editors who want to work on a wiki for “Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey”, whether it’s:

I would like to start a French version

Add categories!

Done with this batch, for now. Feel free to pass on feedback if the categorisation is not up to standard. Question : can you filter out pictures without copyright cat ?

Fixed issues

Something is wrong with the CCS code on mobile

Whether it's on Firefox or Chrome, the visuals are awful. Best example being the headings which use the same color of the background.--BowiQC (talk) 00:57, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

FAQ and/or To-Do section ?

I have 2 suggestions to brainstorm with you :

FAQ section on Main Page? Could be a nice idea to use that to gather new ideas and questions and to answer those questions not covered in other topics
To-Do : A Sub- Category of the Admin Noticeboard to list up all those chores or tasks … I have time to kill and it would prevent clogging up the discussion sub- categories here.

I want to make sure I understand your suggestions. Would the FAQ section be a separate page? Would it be mostly about gameplay elements or only about gameplay? Either way, I think this would be a nice idea to bring readers and editors together.

As for the “To-do” section, that would also be a good addition… We could put it in the Community portal or here, on the Admin noticeboard, and I could also create archive pages of the Admin noticeboard to make it cleaner… Let me know how you see this and I could add links on the Main Page. I would suggest adding the FAQ as a new page and linking it to Main Page. And would not define it too closely : If we have / get questions about the game, we can always use the suggestion to create or edit a wiki entry. And evering else that is related enough not to be deleted would have its place in the FAQ without having to move it.
The ToDo list could be linked to both the Admin noticeboard and the community page. We dont need to add every little task, but adding info about needed tasks in an easy to find was could be useful. The next batch of uncategorized pages / pics ect. I will spin something up
